More Harpsichord Quilt Blocks

Over the Christmas break, I also worked on the harpsichord quilt blocks. There are still many to be made, but I’m going to try to get them finished this year. 154 blocks are needed for the quilt top. I have no idea how many I’ve actually completed to this point. Guess I should count them and then I’ll know just how many are left to be made.

If you’ve read my blog for any length of time, you know the story behind the name I’ve given this quilt top. It’s based on Lucy Boston’s Keyboard Patchwork but I’ve named mine the Harpsichord Quilt as I was inspired to use the little squares of colour after seeing the stunning artwork on beautiful harpsichords on a tour a few summers ago. When I first saw the picture of the Keyboard Patchwork, I was immediately drawn to it. Those are my types of blocks – .75″ seams and an opportunity for a fair bit of continuous stitching. Then, when the Inklingo octagon collection came out, I was off and running after I found the black fabrics with music notes on them.

I’ve been working on the mug rug and hope to have pictures of it to post by the end of the week. If you’re looking for my post on the Grow Your Blog event and the giveaways, please click on this post and leave a comment there for a chance on the giveaways.

The deep freeze continues. Baxter and his favourite toy, Cappy, are staying south until this cold snap is over. They’re saying the wind chill today may be as low as -22C.

Even on a cold day, Baxter is quite comfortable in his kitty tree looking out the window.
